Week 2: Reflection
I have always been an ideas
person -- but without a lot of the real-world tools to make any of those ideas
come to life. In this way, studying business has been sort of difficult for me.
I sometimes feel like I'm better with ideas than I am with the real work.
When we had to talk about
the case studies and offer opinions based on our key word research, I felt a wave
of imposter syndrome sweeping over me. This is not the first time during my
degree – nor will it probably be the last – that I was concerned with whether
or not I was smart enough to be studying business.
But I always take comfort in the
idea that when you are an entrepreneur, there may have been countless people
who came before you, but they will not know your unique path. You can study all
you want, but no amount of books or reading will give you the answers – you kind
of just have to try, and fail, and keep trying until you figure it out. If you
do this, you’ll eventually be exactly where you should be.
